Recispot ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Recispot mobile application and this website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials through our identity provider (Supabase).

Recipe and usage data

We collect recipes you save, cookbooks you create, meal plans, grocery lists, pantry ingredients, cuisine preferences, notes, and favorites. We also collect usage data such as import counts, feature interactions, and app performance metrics.

Imported content

When you import a recipe from a URL, we process the link and extract publicly available recipe data (ingredients, steps, images, metadata). We do not access your social media accounts directly unless you explicitly share content with the app.

Subscription data

Subscription purchases are processed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We receive subscription status and entitlement information but do not store your full payment card details.

Device and notification data

If you opt in to push notifications, we collect a device token to deliver reminders such as weekly planning nudges and dinner prompts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.

How we use your information

• Provide and maintain the Recispot service
• Extract, organize, and display your saved recipes
• Power Pantry Chef AI suggestions tailored to your pantry and preferences
• Generate meal plans and grocery lists
• Process subscriptions and enforce free-tier limits
• Send optional notifications you have agreed to receive
• Improve our products and fix bugs

Third-party services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate Recispot, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and scheduled notifications
• Cloudflare Workers — recipe import, scraping, and extraction
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Apple & Google — app distribution and in-app purchases

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and applicable agreements.

AI features

Pantry Chef uses your saved recipes, pantry ingredients, and preferences to generate cooking suggestions. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and should not be relied on for dietary, medical, or allergy-related decisions.

Data retention

We retain your account and recipe data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@recispot.com.

Your choices

• Update taste and cuisine preferences in your Profile
• Opt in or out of push notifications
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play
• Request access to or deletion of your personal data

Children's privacy

Recispot is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
